Normally Rules for Casino and Hand rankings for poker are consistent whereas we can set any rules for home based poker games. Fifty two card deck is used to play poker games. Normally Joker is not used in Stud Style and Texas Holdem type of games.

Joker is used only when playing draw games.

When playing a Seven Card Stud game, It consists of only Best cards available. We cannot use Sixth cards or Suits to break ties. All the players in the hand will show their cards once the betting rounds are finished.

Ace is the highest rank card and followed by the King, Queen, Jack, Ten and so on.

In Poker, We use two as deuce, Even sometimes, We use Ace below a deuce for straights. In Lowball Style, Ace is used as lowest card.

Poker Hand Rankings in order are as follows:

1. The best possible hand in Poker is with Five Aces or Four Aces with a Joker or Five of a same card is the best hand when a joker or wild cards are used.

2. Straight Flush is the other best possible hand when no joker is in the game; Five consecutive cards of the same symbol say Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds.

If a Set contains Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of the same suit is known as a Royal Flush.

3. The next possible best hand is four cards of same kind, Say Four Aces, Four Queens and Four Tens along with a fifth card. Four Ace Cards is highest set among the other sets.

Normally Higher ranks are best than the other as if four nines can lead four fives.

. The next possible hand is known as Full house whereas it consists of three cards of same grade and two cards of other same grade. Say, If a set of 3 A’s and 2 2’s – AAA22 is known as a full house.

5. Five cards of the same suit is called as Flush. Flushes can be compared as the cards need to be set in Descending order and check each card with respective card in the other player’s set. For Example, If a player holds a set – KJ975 can defeat QJ876.If the players have same set of cards from two suits  say for example, If Player 1 has KQJ98 of Clubs and Player 2 has KQJ98 of Spades, Then it is known as a tie and pot will be shared among the two players.

6. Five cards in sequence from different suits is known as straight. If two players shows the straights, the highest rank card holder is the winner.

If a Player is having 98765 can defeat the other player with 65432 .

Ace can be used in two ways in Straight – You can use A as sequence in AKQJ10 and 5432A – they are known as Broadway straight and Wheel Straight respectively.

7. Three cards of same rank and remaining two unpaired cards. A set 88825 can defeat 444QK. The three cards of  higher rank should be the winner

8. In Two Pair hand, two cards of same rank, two cards of other rank and a third card of other rank.

Example: 88992 can defeat 7788K.

9. The other possible best hand is two cards of the same rank, and remaining three are unrelated. A higher rank pair defeats the lower rank pair. When Players hold the same pair, then the unrelated kicker cards needs to be taken into consideration, – the player having the highest rank cards  in the remaining three cards.

10. The Last possible hand in poker is no pair, high card.

Before Playing Poker – Texas Holdem game, we need to know few details

Dealer:

The first thing we have to discuss about is dealer. Every player is a dealer in his/her turn. The dealer is represented with a graphics button on the table. The button moves in clockwise direction and goes to the next player on the left of dealer. The dealer is the last person for betting in that round. The first person on the left of dealer has to deal the cards and first player to act in betting and the smallest blind is posted by this player.

Pre-Flop: The Player who is the dealer of the round has to distribute two cards with face down to each player. The Player is allowed to see their cards. The player after the big blind has to decide to call or raise or fold the blind. Every player is asked for the same options till all the bets are called and check with the big blind. Any raises in a Fixed limit game is limited to the lower stake amount and the bet amount cannot cross the pot amount in pot limit game.

The Flop: The first three community cards are turned by the dealer and this is known as the flop. Player on the left of dealer has to start all the betting rounds. The lower stake is used in this round of betting in fixed limit games and rules in No Limit and Pot Limit games don’t change.

The Turn: A new betting round will be began only after the fourth community card is dealt.

In Fixed Limit games, the bet limit will be increased to the upper stake and betting will be continued until all the bets are called.

The River: In the last round of betting, the final community card is dealt. In Fixed limit game, the bet amount is limited to the upper stake.

The Showdown: We have to show the cards after all the bets are called. The last player during the final round has to show their hand first. If no player has bet or raise, then the player on the left of the dealer has to show first. Automatically the remaining players hands will be revealed in clockwise direction. The best five card player will win the pot.

Buying the pot: If all players fold to a player during a betting round, then the player has bought that pot. The player can get an option to show the cards or muck his cards.
