3) Pot limit: The amount to be raised in this kind of game purely depends only upon the amount of the pot, if the amount in the pot gets bigger and bigger in the next rounds, it means that one has a chance to raise a higher amount.
Just like a normal player game, there are certain actions that players perform in an online poker game, which are common to most of the online poker games across the world:
• Check – This is an action which can be done only when none of your opponents have bet before you did. One can always check. It means that one can call with a bet of zero dollars. Here, you don’t place anything in the pot and likewise, the turn continues to the next player. The next player can also decide to check and if a situation arises where in all the players check, it means that the play can move to the next stage.
• Bet – Bet is nothing but to put chips or a wager into the pot.
• Call – To call is either to equal the bet or raise the bet which has already been made by the other players before you. An example to illustrate the call is as follows: If the previous player bets 4 20 and another player raise by 4 20, then you would need to put 4 40 in the pot to call.
• Raise – As the name indicates, to raise is to increase the amount of the previous bet. For example, if the betting limit for a particular table is $2 and if one player bets $2, then one can raise the bet by $2 making his total bet for that round $ 4.
• Fold – Sometimes, the player may have a bad hand or he or she does not want or cannot call the previous bet. In such cases, the player puts the cards face won on the online poker table and wuits the current hand.
